Dr. Tessy, popularly known as Missile Woman of India, obtained her B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Calicut University, an ME from IAT, Pune and Ph.D. in Missile Guidance from JNTU, Hyderabad. She also holds an MBA in Operations Management.
She has designed the guidance scheme for long range missile systems (used in Agni missiles) and has contributed in various fields such as Guidance, Control, Inertial Navigation, Trajectory Simulation and Mission Design. She led AGNI-4 as Project Director and has been Director, Advanced Systems Laboratory, DRDO. Dr. Tessy has also been conferred with many awards and 8 Honoris Causa Doctorates from various universities.
